Timothy Wheaton is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Psychiatric Mental Health and an educator within the College of Natural and Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. He is an active Nurse Practitioner and highly experienced Registered Nurse with over 16 years of experience in multiple areas of Nursing, including Critical Care, Operating Room, and Mental Health. He has served as a Mental Health Nurse Manager and Educator.
He is an Alumni of Purdue Global University in West Lafayette, Indiana where he achieved a post graduate certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as alumnus of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, where he completed both his Master of Science in Nursing Education and Bachelorette of Science in Nursing. He is also certified as a Christian Counselor and Mental Health Coach with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and is a member of the Nu Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Additionally, he is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Association (ANA), American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) He is passionate about educating and investing in the development of future nurses.
A proud follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the Assemblies of God Pentecostal Church, he seeks to reflect the love of Christ in all his interactions. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, he currently resides in Lakeland, Florida, with his wife of 20 years, whom he met in high school. They have three adult children, two of whom are currently attending Âé¶¹ÃÛÌÒAV.
